FAQs

THE PRODUCT

What exactly does Gemist do? Gemist embeds a custom jewelry design experience directly into your existing website. Your customers can configure settings, metals, stones, engraving, and sizing in real time — and you receive a complete, structured order with every spec captured automatically. No manual quoting, no missing information, no CAD work to start the process. We also offer on-model renders and video so you can show your jewelry without photoshoots or inventory.

What are the four Gemist tools? The Custom Designer is a step-by-step guided builder — customers configure their piece and you receive a structured order. The Stack Studio lets customers visualize ring stacks, band pairings, and coordinated sets together before buying. The Stone Marketplace connects to live diamond and gemstone feeds so customers can filter, compare, and select stones in real time. On-Model Renders & Video produces photorealistic imagery of your jewelry on real models — no inventory, no photoshoot. Most brands start with one or two tools and add more as they see results.

Is this only for custom jewelry or does it work for ready-to-wear too? Gemist is built for fine jewelry brands across the spectrum. The Custom Designer and Stone Marketplace are most relevant for brands with a custom or semi-custom offering. The Stack Studio and On-Model Renders work equally well for ready-to-wear collections — helping customers visualize pieces together and see jewelry without a traditional photoshoot. We'll tell you on the call which tools make sense for your specific catalog.

Does it work in-store as well as online? Yes — Gemist is designed for both. Every tool is optimized for desktop, tablet, and mobile. Many of our brand partners use it on iPad in their showrooms so consultants can walk customers through the design process on the floor. TryHitched, for example, uses Gemist across all of their showroom locations.

INTEGRATION & SETUP

Will this require rebuilding my website? No. Gemist embeds directly into your existing site — no rebuild required. We're compatible with Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, Squarespace, and custom or headless builds. We handle the integration as part of onboarding, so your team isn't left figuring it out alone.

How long does onboarding take? Timeline varies based on catalog size and which tools you're activating, but we discuss a realistic onboarding schedule on the discovery call. We do the heavy lifting — we'll need access to your website and product information, and one point of contact on your team to approve brand decisions. Most of the work is on us, not you.

How much work is required from my team? We ask for one team member as a primary point of contact — someone who can approve brand decisions and provide accurate product information. We'll need access to your website and, depending on your setup, your IT team. Beyond that, we handle the integration, the design implementation, and the testing. You approve, we build.

Will it look like my brand or will it look like Gemist? It will look entirely like your brand. We implement your fonts, colors, and brand aesthetics throughout. Your customers never see "Gemist" — they see a seamless extension of your website. Your jewelry is the star of the experience.

PRICING & COMMITMENT

How does pricing work? Gemist uses a per-style monthly model — your investment is based on how many styles you activate and which tools you're using. Every brand's scope is different, so we don't publish a single price list. We scope each engagement on a 30-minute call so you get an accurate number for your catalog size and goals, not a generic range. There's also a one-time implementation fee for setup.

Can I start small and scale up? Yes. Most brands start with one focused tool — usually The Custom Designer — and expand to renders, the Stack Studio, or the Stone Marketplace once they've seen the initial results. The integration is built to scale with you, and adding tools doesn't require starting from scratch.

What kinds of brands do you work with? We work with fine jewelry brands — from independent designers to larger multi-location retailers. We're selective because we partner closely with every brand we work with. The best fit is a brand with its own designs and a real custom or semi-custom offering. If you're not sure whether you qualify, book a call — we'll tell you honestly.

What if I don't have a website yet? We can still work together. Book a call and tell us where you are — we'll talk through what's needed and whether the timing is right to move forward.
